THE CHURCH OF ST. LAWRENCE

St Lawrence Church: 1815
The oldest parts of the present building are the remains of the 12th Century Norman structure which replaced an earlier Saxon Church.
The Nave: 1830
Various architectural styles are displayed throughout the Church; these chart the many additions and alterations with the most noteworthy taking place at the start of the 15th Century. The main fabric of the building is constructed from Totternhoe Stone and flint; these being the materials available locally or nearby in the Chiltern Hills.
